Attendance

A gym attendance tracker for a crew, not a front desk

Logging sets tells you what you lifted. Attendance tells you whether you and your friends were there. GymBuddys does both, and the coordination is the part a normal workout log leaves out.

Two jobs that get mixed together

A personal workout tracker answers: which exercise, how much weight, how many reps, and whether that was a personal record. That record is useful, and GymBuddys keeps it — exercises, measurements, habits, and streaks included.

A crew needs a different answer before any of that matters: who is coming today, who is late, who is out, and who has arrived. If that answer lives only inside a chat, you do not have an attendance record. You have a conversation.

What GymBuddys records for a group

Each member sets a status: Coming, Coming But Late, Not Sure, Absent, or Arrived. The group sees the same list. Moderators can pin the gym. You can mark Arrived yourself. If you allow location while the app is open, the app can mark Arrived when you are near that pin. Location is optional and is not collected in the background.

Over time, the group can look at attendance history, challenges, and leaderboards. That is a picture of showing up together. It is not a door-access system, a turnstile, or a staff roster for a facility.

The social side of that board is covered in the accountability guide. How to run the week with friends is in workout with friends.

What it deliberately is not

Gym owners sometimes search for an attendance tracker because they need to know which paying members came in, and then bill them.GymBuddys does not manage memberships, invoices, or payments. People in the app are training partners with their own accounts, not a gym's customer list.

It also does not claim to measure health. Arrived means you were at the gym you pinned, not that the session was safe, complete, or effective. Nutrition estimates and Coach suggestions are separate tools, and they are not clinical advice.
